Takeshi Sumi was born in 1981 in Kyoto. Graduated from Meiji University, Faculty of Letters, and Tama Art University, Department of Information Design. Sumi's work is based on the theme of "discovering the world beyond the retina," and he mainly uses photography and emphasizes physical sensation in his production process. He resides from 2013 to 2020, when he was added to the agnès b. collection. After returning to Japan, he continues to produce and present his work from his base in Kyoto. His books include “Fly in the Sky" and "Fingers and Stars" (both published by Libro Arte). His major works include the cover of "The Night Polaris Descends" (by Li Qinfeng) and the 20th anniversary visuals for JR Kyoto Isetan.
澄毅 (すみ たけし) 1981年京都生まれ。明治大学文学部•多摩美術大学情報デザイン学科卒。「網膜の先の世界を見出す」ことをテーマに主に写真を用い、身体的な感覚を重視した制作過程で作品を発表してい る。agnès b.コレクションに加えられたことをきっかけに2013年から2020年まで在住。現地で個展などの作品発表を行い、日本帰国後は京都を拠点に制作と発表を続けている。本に「空に泳ぐ」「指と星」(いずれもリブロアルテ刊)。主な作品提供に「ポラリスが降り注ぐ夜」表紙(李 琴峰著)、ジェイアール京都伊勢丹20周年記念ビジュアルなど。
